Mei Sato-

Born in Akita Prefecture in 2002.
Currently enrolled in the Master’s Program in Intermedia Art at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts.
Working primarily with textiles and installation, the artist explores the ways in which external environments—such as light, climate, and everyday habits—influence bodily sensations and perceptions. They regard fabric not only as a metaphor for the body, but also as a medium that records contact with the environment and the accumulation of time.
Drawing on their experience growing up in Akita Prefecture, the artist is interested in the lived experience of winter and life in regional areas, the differences between urban and rural environments, and the crafts and values rooted in particular places. Through acts such as sewing, connecting, covering, and leaving traces on fabric, they seek to visualize the relationship between the individual body and the land and society that surround it.

「Solar Brain」

Yukino Sato-

Born in Tokyo in 2002.
Currently enrolled in the Printmaking Course of the Master’s Program at the Graduate School of Musashino Art University.
With a focus on “observing the very existence of what lies before us,” the artist creates woodblock prints that magnify seemingly ordinary forms. In the process of making the printing blocks, they carve intricate forms little by little with a carving knife, practicing a way of perceiving complex things as they are—in all their complexity.

Fuka Takahashi-

Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 2003.
Currently enrolled in the Master’s Program of the Art and Design Program at the University of Tsukuba.
Focusing on the relationship between local communities and people, the artist creates sculptural works and installations centered on the theme of landscape.
In particular, they are interested in how familiar, everyday scenery can be rediscovered as a subjective landscape. They regard their installations as devices for this process, exploring the relationship between the act of viewing an artwork and the evocation of landscapes that accompanies it.

「FLIP SECENERY」

Oruko Takei-

Born in 2005.
Currently studying Textile Arts in the Department of Crafts at Kanazawa College of Art.
Drawn to the craft of creating works that make use of the textures and inherent qualities of materials, the artist specializes in dyeing and explores an original form of expression that combines dyeing with free-motion embroidery. Rather than viewing embroidery simply as a means of depicting something, they regard it as an act of inscribing time and emotion, developing works from the traces left on fabric by the movements and sensations of the body.
