コートヤードHIROOを運営する株式会社アトムは、若手のドイツ人作家 パウル・グラスルによるアーティスト・イン・レジデンスを東京・コートヤードHIROOと富山県・滑川市の2ヶ所にて開催しました。
パウルは、2024年の東京藝術大学交換留学時より、空き家の調査と描画を行う「空き家プロジェクト」を展開。空き家を単なる遺構ではなく、過去と現代を接続する媒体として再定義し、シルクスクリーンや壁画へと昇華させています。現在も日本の都市部および地方におけるリサーチを深め、独自の視点で研究を続けています。
Atom Co., Ltd., the operator of Courtyard HIROO, hosted an artist-in-residence program featuring the young German artist Paul Glasl at two locations: Courtyard HIROO in Tokyo and Namerikawa City in Toyama Prefecture.
Since his exchange program at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2024, Paul has been developing the “Vacant House Project,” which involves surveying and sketching vacant properties. He redefines vacant houses not merely as ruins, but as a medium connecting the past and the present, transforming them into silkscreen prints and murals. He continues to deepen his research in both urban and rural areas of Japan, pursuing his studies from a unique perspective.
また、3月19日～28日にかけて富山県滑川市で「空き家」をテーマとしたAIR（アーティストインレジデンス）プログラムを開催しました。Paulには日常から離れた環境で自身の表現と向き合い、富山の文化を学びながら新たな挑戦として、「なめりかわ建物フェス」実行委員会の協力のもと、市内に残る歴史的建造物や空き家の調査を実施。調査の結果を元に作品を制作活動に取り組んで頂きました。
