本展覧会は、情報過多の時代おけるインターネットメディア及びマスメディアの中で日々刷新される視覚イメージがどのように記憶され、想起され、消費され、観賞され、記録されるかについての考察です。その考察は、実際にメディアの中にある視覚イメージを素材としながら、現代社会の瞬間を映し出す新たな視覚イメージの生成です。具体的には、作家自身が日常生活におけるメディアの中で、受動的に出会いながらも関心を抱いた視覚イメージを選択します。その選択した視覚イメージをコラージュ手法とステイニング技法（滲み）を通して、現在を圧縮した新たな絵画の図像の生成を試みる“コラージュ・アンド・ステイニング“　シリーズの新作絵画16点を発表します。

This new exhibition presents 16 new paintings in the series “Collage and Staining,” in which visual imagery that is renewed on a daily basis in Internet media and mass media in an age of information overload and randomly encountered in the everyday life of the
artist himself, sparking his interest, is used to generate visual images through a collage technique, after which these generated images are then reconstructed using a staining technique.

石井 亨
1981年静岡県生まれ。2014年東京藝術大学大学院美術研究科美術専攻博士後期課程修了。2016年文化庁新進芸術研修員2年、ビジティングリサーチャーとしてロンドンのVictoria and Albert Museumで研修。伝統文化の新たな世代の継承者として、近年は国内外のグループ展に参加。主な展示は、大和日英基金ジャパンハウスギャラリー（ロンドン）、東京オペラシティギャラリー（東京）、富山美術館（富山）ホノルル美術館（ハワイ）、松濤美術館（東京）、ポーラMuseum Annex（東京）、ジャパンソサエティー・アートギャラリー (ニューヨーク)、イセ・カルチャル財団(ニューヨーク)。また、東京藝大学美術館（東京）、Morikmi Museum（マイアミ）、Victoria and Albert Museum（ロンドン）に作品が収蔵されている。

Toru Ishii
Born in1981 in Shizuoka Prefecture, Ishii completed his doctorate in Fine Arts at the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the Tokyo University of the Arts in 2014. In 2016, he began a term of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists sponsored by the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs, during which he spent two years as a visiting researcher at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. As a new-generation successor to Japan’s traditional culture, in recent years he has participated in group exhibitions in Japan and overseas. His work has been exhibited at the Daiwa Foundation Japan House Gallery(London), Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery (Tokyo), Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art & Design (Toyama), Honolulu Museum of Art (Hawaii), The Shoto Museum of Art (Tokyo),
Pola Museum Annex (Tokyo), Japan Society Art Gallery (New York), and Ise Cultural Foundation (New York). In addition, his works are held in the collections of the University Art Museum, Tokyo University of the Arts (Tokyo), Morikami Museum (Miami), and Victoria and Albert Museum (London).
