この度は新しい作品シリーズをフィーチャーした個展を開催致します。チャリティアート展である本展の売上のすべてが Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) に寄付され、ラハイナ火災で影響を受けた人々を支援します。
2023年8月8日、ラハイナ、マウイで大惨事となる火災が発生し、97人が命を失い、2,200棟以上の建物が焼失、何万人もの地元の人々の家を失いました。この悲劇は私の故郷であるハワイ州に深く影響を与え、私が愛した美しい島のコミュニティを支えてこられた地元の人々の毎日を一変させました。
この作品シリーズは、私の文化的アイデンティティとルーツを扱います。私の制作ではめったに探求しないテーマですが、今こそが私の故郷について作品を作る適切な瞬間だと感じています。この新しい作品シリーズを楽しんでいただければ幸いであり、ラハイナの人々への支援の輪を共に拡げていただければと思います。

Solo Charity Exhibition
I am excited to announce a charity art exhibition featuring a new body of work, with all profits going to the Hawaii Community Foundation to support those affected by the Lahaina fire.
On August 8th, 2023 97 people lost their lives in Lahaina, Maui during a disastrous fire that burned down over 2,200 buildings and forever destroyed the homes of thousands of locals. This tragedy has profoundly impacted my home state of Hawaii and devastated the livelihoods of the locals, who made the islands such a beautiful community to grow up in.
This body of work delves into my cultural identity and heritage that I rarely explore in my practice. I feel this is the right moment to make work about my home.
I hope you can enjoy this new body of work and extend your support to help the people of Lahaina.

マイケル・ホー｜MICHAEL HO
1996年、アメリカ・ハワイ島で生まれ、同島で育つ。カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校（UCLA）芸術学部で美術を学び、2018年に最優等賞を取得して卒業。美術学士。大学在学中は、バーバラ・クルーガー、ラリ・ピットマン、アンドレア・フレーザー、キャサリン・オーピー、エイドリアン・ウォン、エイドリアン・サックス、メアリー・ケリー、シルケ・オットー・ナップといった芸術家や教授に師事し、共同制作もした。2018年、大学卒業後まもなく拠点を東京に移し、東京と香港で作品の発表を開始。視覚意味論と疑似教訓主義に焦点を当てた絵画や彫刻にアメリカのポップカルチャーを取り入れ、見る者との間に活発な対話が生じるような、より複雑な絵画の可能性を追求している。
